About Us

 Miss Mallory has been teaching dance for 22 years.  She is skilled in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Acro, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Clogging and Dance Theatre.  She enjoys seeing her students work hard, accomplish goals and perform on stage! Some of Miss Mallory’s favorite things are hugs from her students, seeing them sweat in class, and watching them smile on stage. Miss Mallory loves her husband Jason and her 2 daughters, Norah & Leah. You will even see Miss Mallory around the studio as she works in the office.   

 Miss Marisa has been teaching since 2012. She is skilled in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Clogging, Hip Hop, Acro, Early Dance Education, and Lyrical. Miss Marisa has been dancing since she was 3 years old. She went to Lansing Community College for 2 years where she studied dance.  Miss Marisa loves teaching all ages of dancers especially her younger dancers. When she is not teaching Miss Marisa can be found hanging out with her friends and family. 

 Miss Georgie is a former homegrown student of Miss Kathy’s School of Dance. Over a span of 15 years, she began her  studies in Ballet and had a calling for acrobatics.  Always having a passion for the arts, she took part in  school musicals and chamber choirs. Outside of class she practices yoga and understands the importance of properly stretching and warming up to encourage progress and prevent  injuries. Miss Georgie loves spending time with her family when she is not in the studio. 

 Miss Annabelle has loved dance ever since she began her first ballet class when she was 4 years old. Throughout her childhood, she tried many other activities and sports, but always came back to dance. When she became a student at Green Dance Academy, she also enjoyed studying lyrical and pointe. In total, she danced for 10 years and is super excited for her third year of teaching! Miss Annabelle hopes that her students grow to love dance as much as she does, and
her favorite thing about teaching is seeing her students perform on stage! When she's not dancing, Miss Annabelle enjoys reading, watching movies, spending time with friends, and loving that pumpkin spice to come back in season! 

 Miss Rachel started her dance career at the age of 4 with MKSOD and has continued her dance career with GDA. She is skilled in the styles of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Acro, Modern, Pointe, & Hip Hop. Miss Rachel found her passion for teaching dance when she was substituting for a couple of teachers. Her favorite styles of dance are Lyrical & Acro. Miss Rachel graduated from Decatur High School in 2023. Miss Rachel is very excited to be one of our teachers this season.  

Miss Abi took her first dance class when she was 4 but decided to try other things such as basketball, cheer, soccer, and many other sports. She rediscovered her love for dance when she was 12 and started dancing at MKSOD, and continued dancing at GDA. 

Her favorite styles of dance are tap, jazz, and lyrical. Miss Abi is very excited to start her first year of teaching and share her love for dance with others. When she's not dancing Miss Abi loves spending time with friends and family, watching movies, and going to the beach!

Miss Twyla is a passionate ballet teacher and accomplished dancer with a deep love for the arts. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, she earned her BFA degree majoring in Ballet, and was awarded Academic Honors and a scholarship, studying with some of the greatest Ballet Masters. 

As a professional dancer, Miss Twyla performed for the Lexington Ballet, bringing her passion to the stage in various classical and contemporary roles. Her experience on stage deeply informs her teaching, allowing her to offer students insights from her own career.

For 8 years, Twyla has been sharing her passion for ballet with students of all ages. She loves helping dancers grow technically while also nurturing their love for the art form. Twyla believes in creating a positive and encouraging environment where students can thrive and find joy in dance.

Miss Katelyn is a junior in high school and is 16 years old. She started dance when she was 3 years old and this year will be her 14th dance season, as well as her 1st year of teaching! She enjoys spending her free time at home and with friends.  A fun fact about Miss Katelyn is that she is enrolled in an EMT program at Van Buren Tech Center!  She is very excited for this dance season and what it'll bring!
